Epilogue

161a

After cycling through Alberta and BC
these last two weeks have been good for me

I wanted a challenge and I sure got one
Despite the heatwave I still had fun

Travel broadens the mind and I’m glad I went
I’ve become quite used to my little tent

Everything has a place in my nylon home
My headlamp, my Yeti and even my comb

For a whole week it kept getting hotter
Day after day I ran out of water

I tried to be mindful of all the cars
and I ate a lot of granola bars

Every turn of the pedals was just enough
to make a difference whenever things got tough

Spectacular scenery was all around
There was so much beauty to be found

Now that this trip is over and done
it’s time to start planning another one

Your support means a lot – it can’t be denied
Thanks for coming along for the ride!

  4. I enjoyed following your blog, and it brought back lots of memories of doing the Tour du Canada. I remember it being pretty warm through that part of the trip, but nothing like the record shattering blast furnace you had. I both envied and pitied you, and admire your perseverance. Maybe we’ll cross paths again some time.

    1. Great to hear from you, Mark. I see you did the TdC in ’16 – belated congrats! I’ll be following along to see which tour you tackle next. I’m currently undecided.
