What an incredibly memorable time we had!
To cycle this distance one has to be mad
On one level I’m feeling quite inspired
On another I’m really, really tired
I met some great people along the way
Teamwork got us through the more difficult days
God knows I can’t keep up with the blokes
but He helped me with every pedal stroke
It was gratifying to get to each basecamp
especially on days when the weather was damp
Challenging weather was expected as such
but the hail coming down was a wee bit much
The food was almost as good as homemade
and I drank a lot of Gatorade
Of all the cycling events I’ve done
the support we had was second to none
From the mechanics, laundry and luggage crew
to the spectators, chefs and medics too
Thank you all for your encouraging notes
It’s a relief to have made it to John O’Groats!
Congratulations. Well done. Love your poem. Praying for safe travels home.
Thanks Wendy, see you soon!
Congratulations Lynn!! You’ve completed a pretty incredible ride. We were all cheering for you here and hope you enjoy a warm drink by a fire real soon 📣🎉👏☕️🔥
Thanks Linsie! I’m happy to have a more relaxed schedule for a while and get back to some other hobbies.
Congratulations, Lynn!!!!!! I absolutely love your poem.
Thanks Sarah! It’s been an exciting couple of weeks but oh my gosh, I’m so ready for a rest.
You are amazing! What an incredible experience – your photos were great!!! Can’t wait to catch up and hear all about it!
That would be great! Let’s chat soon.
Once again, it’s a pleasure to read your account of your tour. Thanks for posting. I have to say, those are pretty aggressive daily distances. Was your goal to make me feel weak, lazy, and inadequate? Mission accomplished. (Just kidding… I’m not going to compare myself to you anyway.) Well done!
Hahaha, glad you enjoyed it! This one was a beast to train for because it chewed up my whole summer.
