Epilogue

IMG_0520

I am so exhausted in every way
Completely knackered, as they say

Ireland is lovely, I like it here
It’s particularly nice this time of year

Of the places my bike has allowed me to see
this one is really special to me

Mountains of granite and lush valleys below
make the Emerald Isle a place you should go

Rich history and culture will draw you in
and the friendly locals will treat you as kin

We had our fair share of close calls
Perseverance was critical to one and all

No matter how much rain fell from the sky
it was important to keep our spirits high

I’m not sure where my next trip will lead
but you can bet I’ll post it here to read

Nothing compares to the way it feels
to fly down a hill on two little wheels

Get out for a ride whenever you can
It’s totally worth the funny tan!

  4. Hi Lynn… I really enjoyed your posts. Perhaps not all of your readers know the ins and outs of a bicycle tour, including the joy of putting on wet shoes in the morning, but I understand completely. Looks like it was a great trip. Cheers!

    1. Thanks Mark, you understand better than most what it’s really like on these tours and the intensity that goes along with them. I’m always open to suggestions for where to ride next if you know of any good ones.
