Another adventure has brought me back
for a closer look at the Union Jack
I’ll get to see Britain from bottom to top
but there will likely be times when I want to stop
It’s a lot of mileage over nine days
a significant challenge in many ways
With hundreds of riders it’s a huge event
and each night I’ll have to sleep in a tent
Some of you are thinking, “How is that fun?”
You have to love cycling, that’s number one
Secondly, you have to love to explore
and push yourself that little bit more
You may recall I rode in Ireland last year
Four of the guys from that trip are here
I’m now in Penzance (not a pirate in sight)
and I’m camping in Land’s End tomorrow night
Whatever training I’ve done will have to suffice
since the hills in Cornwall are not very nice
My plan is to take it slow and steady
If I adhere to that, I think I’m ready.
Good Luck (not the right word) ENJOY yourself. I have tried to subscribe to your ride; but am not sure that I was successful.
Thank you, I’m looking forward to it! It looks as if you’re already a subscriber.
Hope you have a great start to your tour Lynn – have fun and be safe!
