Day 11 | Rest Day in Banff

There really isn’t much to do at this campground since we’re deep in the woods. The van is parked half a kilometre away from our tents because that’s the closest hookup for power and water. It just means I have to be a little more organized to minimize the trips back and forth.

I catch the bus into town early and stay there most of the day. I spend some time at a café with my laptop, browse through the shops and pick up a few groceries.

I get back to the campground around 4 just as the rain starts up again. I take shelter in my tent for an hour until it clears up, then I head to the trailer and make a pot of pasta. Every time we cook on this stove, the first step is to put a big pot of water on to boil so we’ll have dishwashing water ready when we need it.

Some of this will get packed for lunch tomorrow. We have a long day ahead of us and I’ll need all the fuel I can get.
